A few things to note about this site:
- The underlying software is WordPress. We started on Scoop but were having difficulty with making it work as we wanted it to do. If you run into very slow load times or have other problems, feel free to send us an email and we’ll check it out right away.
- You must register for an account and be logged in to post a comment or a diary. No anonymous comments are permitted.
- The WordPress visual editor sometimes does very strange things to your posts. If you are at all comfortable with HTML, you may find it much easier to disable the visual editor. To do this, go to your profile and uncheck the box at the top marked “Use the visual editor when writing.”
The non-visual editor doesn’t require < p > commands and has buttons to click so that you can highlight and mark a section as bold or italic, write a list, and insert links easily. It’s similar to the auto-format used on dkos, so you aren’t completely on your own.

Cool. This is way better. If you could modify the logo ever so slightly, the Capital dome could be a little clearer, and half open, you know, like it’s being served!

No bugs, donnamarie. It’s still ugly but I am working on the templates and soon it will look like our site instead of a generic WordPress.

Phew! I managed to get in somehow, went to the new link you sent and I’m here. Great job with the dome! It’s clear…and it smokes! LOL. Now I’ll post a diary on weird but edible foods…

My reply button didn’t work. The family car blew up while Ms. AAF and the girls were in it but no one hurt, thank goodness.
His girl Lab, Bessie, ingested rat poison famers had put out in the fields to deter foxes. She’s still at the vet’s and it could go either way.

We have that exact same problem here. I’m especially worried about my lovely new houndie girl because she just *loves* to munch on the critters. Scares me to death!

Hey y’all–a little bouncing around, but I am settled in here now. Thanks, Kate! My only wish is that the font were larger, but that’s a nitpick, really. It looks great!
I’m about to take off for about six weeks…going to eat my way from San Francisco straight up 101 to the Oregon border! Heh, well, that’s the fun part, mainly I am just helping my mom move to her new house. But I can’t wait to get out to CA and get some fresh food again. I’ll try to drop in when I can and report on foodie news from redwood country, wine country, crabland, etc.

AAF, I don’t know if I’ll make it all the way up to Oregon this trip, but I’ll get close! Mom’s new house is in Eureka, CA…Redwood Country. It’s beautiful up there. And lots and lots of great local food.
Good! I’m glad it’s better. I’ll probably be tweaking and adding new features for the next week or so, until we get the site feeling comfortable.
Another vote for mature vision. The current is much easer to read.
I agree, I thought I was having visions then asked Kate, who’s doing the Wizard thinghy, behind the curtains!
