I could live a small Euro lifestyle, if I lived in a small Euro country! ;-) Really, we are trying to divest ourselves of stuff and go greener and smaller. I hate going to the grocery or farmer's market and find a huge expedition has parked too close and I can't even get in the driver's side. When will these people get some consideration and compassion? But I also think we hit Peak Oil a couple of years ago. I genuinely believe the merican way of life --- that is, car culture, suburbia, etc. - is now over, although it will take many Americans ten years to figure that out. They got in and pushed up and got out and left others holding the bag. I do think you are right that we will not see a big reduction in prices. I anticipate the family food diary.
