I hope Kate will reduce the pic to an appropriate size!

      Arrr matey, big pic!

I’d fix it but I tried once a while back and got lost.

That’s why I was hoping Kate would downsize it. But you get the idea. And the Guinness!

A trifle late — I just saw this — but now she is fixed.

LOL! Plus you have what appears from here a Canadian Mounty at the helm of a sloop in the background tv screeen. That Guinness does look good!

I confess: I am a “Due South” addict at the moment. That’s exactly what you’re seeing: a moment from the ridiculous and wonderful episode “Mountie on the Bounty.”

The new product here in the US the past few years has been surprisingly good, and the cans seem to be better than the bottles. Years ago, Mrs. Translator thought Guinness akin to earwax, to use her term, but the new process for preserving draught has even converted her. I still believe that old adage that says “Guinness does not travel well”, but they are getting better at it. Warmest regards, Doc.

One of the best way to drink Guinness, IMO, is to mix it equally with sparkling chardonnay (or pinot noir). We call it the Black Velvet over here, and it’s wildly popular with the “in crowd”. Make sure you pour the Guinness first!
