Tomorrow I have a treat for you: a terrine made with eggplant & goat cheese, one of my favorite dish I used to make in OZ.

      That sounds lovely!

I can’t wait to get into my new kitchen and get it put all back together. It’s a tiny thing, but boy, does it have some storage.

Needs some paint, tho. But that’s to be expected – the house is 80 years old and is in awesome condition – the owners took care of the important stuff, like electricity, roofing, foundation, etc.

But the interior still has some original wallpaper and little to no renovations on the old part.

The kitchen, needless to say, is about the size of a postage stamp. But it’s got storage to die for, plenty of counter space and a new stove! w00t!!!!!!

In a way, I envy you your moving-in tasks, Biscuit. It’s tough, but it’s so rewarding, getting a new kitchen set up.

        Will there be any photos?

I have to do before and after.

The few things they did inside are just too strange not to capture them in photos.

I actually got a little bit done today. I got the refrigerator scrubbed from top to bottom, started packing up the kitchen and, after I do some mowing, I plan to finish packing up my “show” shelves – they’re ancient solid oak library shelves. I have to dissemble them to move them and, considerng moving day is going to be here before I know it, I have GOT to get that done next – by the end of the night.

But first I have to mow. It’s supposed to rain buckets here starting tomorrow afternoon, so I have to get the yard mowed before – well, before tomorrow afternoon!

          Biscuit,

I am so envious of your move. I love the fact that you have a new place to make your own. WOW! Congratulations!
Hate to say it, but we are experiencing a cold spell. It’s been 40′s to 50′s the last week. I really love it. The place we are renting comes with a landscaper and HE mowed today! ;-)

It’s not quite boiling here, but very close.

And I’m excited about my move, too. The best part is, the previous owners took care of all the important (and most expensive) stuff – so I get to do the fun stuff.

If I ever get all my junk packed and moved, that is.

Biscuit, you are a brave person! When I moved into my present house, it was such an incredible hassle that I swore the next time I move anywhere it will be on a gurney or in a box.

Heh. Me too, Dr. Chelo. Me too. That was 12 years ago, and so far, so good…

              B & D,

Right before my Mother died and left me with all her goodies, I moved into my first house I bought. I hadn’t alot of stuff and Mom came down to help me move. It was so sweet. She couldn’t do much but gave alot of advice and encouragement on the process.
Well, we went to an Asian restaurant and got fortune cookies for dessert. Mine said “He who thinks he has enough is rich”. After moving into a new house- I knew that I needed to KISS my possesions. Been trying to do that ever since.
Just had my daughter and her NEW fiance here for the week and we decided on alot of stuff she wanted or didn’t want. I really am ready to get rid of it.
Seems like I have been keeping hold of stuff just to keep close to Mom. Don’t need it any more. It’s all in the memories.
