I'm having a complete failure of imagination trying to figure out how to help change that. It sounds like the Rome conference was doomed, but I'd like to think that, at a minimum, it focused some attention on the ridiculousness of the US ethanol policy. What I see happening here at Politicook and all around my own neighborhood is the kind of political will and leadership that our "leaders" can't provide and that a real democracy depends on: local activism, independent thought, personal awakening.
