I‘m finally starting to get things kind of set up here, but it’s taking major expenditures of time and energy. Moving is a huge pain. Worse, perhaps, is trying to take care of two places at once.

The bad news is, the groundhog is back. For those who don’t know about him, he’s a long time resident of the space beneath my old place. In fact, he might be the same groundhog who was the former owner’s pet. ?. Someday soon, I’ll have the time to explain. For now, I’ll just say that, um, yea, the old guy who owned my place had a pet groundhog (?) and that this particular groundhog is unafraid enough of me and familiar enough with my place that he might indeed be the same groundhog.

Yes, he’s cute. I’ll provide evidence of that later this evening when I have a bit of extra time. Yes, he may have some degree of territorial rights because he may have been there first.

But he can’t live there. I don’t want that place collapsing, thanks to him.

Worse, my mower there got stolen. I knew it was going to be, and it did. I have a good idea who did it, too — a young fellow who’s gone bad. He even stole some chickens from one of my neighbors.

So I had to buy a new mower yesterday evening. This morning, I’m assembling it, and I’ll be taking it down there in a bit so I can knock down some of that crap.

I also have to put in a new headlight, move some more crap, blah blah blah wash rinse repeat ad infinitum.

In short: no time for either gardening or writing this weekend. But I will post a pic of the groundhog in question later this evening.

For now, though, I’m all tanked up on caffeine and ready to go. Maybe I’ll get enough done today and tomorrow that I can actually write some stuff this week!

Oh, and my phone and internet problems are almost entire resolved.

Even better, starting next Wednesday, I think, I’ll be on DSL. I installed the modem, etc., late last night. :)

Hooray for the good news! Bah for the bad.

I managed to get a new site design done and up for approval this morning. Now I have to run mega errands that I didn’t do yesterday on account of dealing with the &^%*)# cable and $%#&!!! fried modem. Then I will come back and if I am not too exhausted I will post a diary. If not, it may be tomorrow. But I’ll have something up for your reading pleasure soon.

It’s difficult to have a life and a blog.

Long gone are the days when I had the time to brood over blogs. Not that *that* wasn’t fun, too.

Btw, by the looks of it, half of dKos has migrated to pff. A former Got a Happy Story? and best friend of Carnacki is now over there.

 Boy, you really have a life!

It’s a spinoff blog started by the guy who did all the programming (or whatever) for dKos – peeder. Disenchanted and disenfranchised dKossians. It used to just be ugly, just a nasty place, but not so badly recently. I hit it on my Saturday morning blog cruises, and today discovered not just yet another, but a formerly fairly prominent dKossian has bailed.

Also discovered Elise has a sockpuppet at dKos that chases around her enemies!

Oh my! Too bad I now have the new mower put together — let me add, in the process, I also found out what I’d done with all my wrenches – woohoo, I can put things together now — and have to trave to the next county to mow. O/w, I’d be so deep into this latest blog drama!

Also met the neighbor dog – Peanut. He escaped from captivity! Great excitement and barking and doggie congenialty broke out.

Now if I could just find the bungie cord …
