No doubt that many of you have seen the Duggar family on one of the “educational” cable channels. The show tries to make them come off like a normal family.
The show lies. Jim Bob Duggar is a rich Republican who has made a fortune selling real estate in northwest Arkansas, as the vultures came in to circle the Wal-Mart headquarters. He has made a fortune off of it, and TV royalties as well.
im Bob was elected to the Arkansas legislature a few years back, and tried to pass reactionary, dominionist laws. He was rebuffed by most of the legislature, and chose not to run again. He is as radical as they come.That family was just selected to represent Arkansas on Family Parents Day for this year, why I do not know, except that the Republicans and the evangelicals are strong now in Arkansas.

“Be fruitful and multiply” is their operative command.
Notice that all of the boys wear one uniform, and that all of the girls another one.
Please switch channels when those people are on the television. Do not click on their website, to which I will not post a link. They are rich, and getting richer off of their utilization of the media, and I do not want to contribute to it.

Mama Duggar announced the latest little bundle of joy (notice I said “latest,” not “last”) on TV on Mother’s Day. The family had been invited to appear on one of the network morning shows so the kids could give her some kind of “Best Mother in the World” gift. And she springs this on them. Jim Bob didn’t even know at that point.

I think that was the first 14 or 15 kids (I keep losing count…) and they are now up to 17 bucking and one in the chute. She says they will continue to have babies every 18 months like clockwork, “as long as God keeps blessing us with them.”
All the children — every single one of them — has a Bible name beginning with J.

And also notice that in whichever medium one sees them, they are in uniform, the boys with pants and close cropped hair, the girls in pioneer dresses with long hair, and everything matches within genders. I am telling you, they creep me out very much, and he got elected to the State Legislature. He gave it up because is was getting in the way of making money. Warmest regards, Doc.
How can anyone bring up a family properly with this many children? (Even if they do have all that money.) It’s not just about money — it’s about spending time with them. And yes, they do creep me out. Media-sluts like this group usually implode some how…
The older children raise the younger ones. Mama concentrates on each newborn for a period of nine months, then weans the baby and assigns one of the older children as a “buddy” to be responsible for the baby’s care and upbringing. This frees Mama to get pregnant again with the next one.
The girls do all the cooking and housework. The boys do the outside work. Mama supposedly homeschools all of them, but you can’t tell me she simultaneously holds classes for children ranging in age from 20 to 5 or 4. I imagine the older ones actually “school” the younger ones as well.
There are two dormitories — boys in one, girls in the other. A shared bathroom for each gender. No privacy, no individuality.
It is beyond creepy. It’s Stepford.
If they already have 17 kids, this means Mama has been pregnant for almost 13 years! And, I think it went without saying, that they would be home-schooled. You definitely, would not want these kids educated. It really is a form of child-abuse to have this many kids. If they had individuality, they would start thinking for themselves, and that would scare the parents sh*tless.
I think I remember that there are two sets of twins among the 17. Even so, she’s been pregnant about half her life since menarche (she’s only around 40).
