IT”S NOT TIME FOR YOU TO POST!!! DAMN YOU LIZARD!! I DIDN’T WANT TO STEP ON YOUR TOES…your pinky is too cute!
Lizard is (usually) pre-loaded to post at 5:00 pm Central (just so you will know).
I have been absolutely slammed at work.
arggh.
We miss you.
It’s been five-ten students deep in my office all day every day. No lunch, barely a pee break.
Add teaching two classes, meetings, having to input data (because we have to DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT every single little thing that’s said or done), crowd control (because our offices have become a favorite hangout which has its plusses for the students, but we’re going bats) all on top, and my brains are fluff by the time I get home.
But it’s all for good purposes!
I named my new turtle “Whoopsie” because when he tries to go places and gets stuck or falls down that is what I say. I had to laugh at the chickens. They were very interested in the new critter, but Rojo took all his ladies into the chicken house to hide. They were afraid of Whoopsie!
I love turtles. But I think I might love Rojo even more. What a brave little fellow he is, taking care of his ladies like that!
Mango, that is so cute! I love tortoises that acclimatize them selves to their place. I’m finishing up on “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Polland. It’s a good book and well worth reading about eating in America today.
I was sent a link yesterday to an online book that should be pretty good if you like Pollan. Lemme go grab the link ….
Thanks, Biscuit, I like him, I also like Bitteren. He’s wonderful!
Oh. Well d’oh!
Go to eatwell.org and look for the link to Cultivating the Web: High Tech Tools for the Sustainable Food Movement.
I haven’t been able to look it over yet because – well, just because.
Biscuit,
Get some rest! Please. I’ll go look at the site.
Y’all know that I am currently writing a bio of a famous cook and a practical cookbook a the same time? My sweetie is helping me with the cookbook, but the bio is someone that has the same birthday as me and has some ancestors that are the same! Weird conkidink!
Well, this is really interesting that Doc and I are writing books at the same time! Well!
o o o!
You know, the private option can be yours, as well, if you ever want feedback!!!
Ah heck, this is the heck that is teaching in America. At least I have the satisfaction of seeing some extraordinary turn-arounds. There is nothing better than watching a kid whose mom was shot and died, whose 2 older brothers died similarly violent deaths, who grew up in a family that made its living picking fruit …. watching that kid go from um, maybe this kid *doesn’t* belong in college? to this one’s gonna make it!! No better feeling in the world.
But it is hard, hard work.
Biscuit,
I briefly dated a guy in Austin that mentored homeless people through Jr College and one night he got a voice mail from one of his students saying he had just found out he would graduate! We both cried.
Arrgghh!! Talk about getting slammed at work! It’s School Physical time – school starts on the 25th, and our clinic chain is offering $15.00 school/sports physicals, so along with the hordes of children with diarrhea from our Cryptosporidium-infested public pools and water parks, the sore throats, lacerations, sprains and strains, the front desk is almost as full of kids (and their parents) needing that piece of paper that says they are healthy enough to play school sports.
I was supposed to be finished by 5 PM today..but I did not make it home until almost 8…anyone want to cook dinner for biscuit and me?
omg. I feel your pain … literally.
Same boat. Exactly!
drchelo,
I would come and cook for you anytime you wish. I’m sorry you have so much stuff on your plate at present. May your doggies give you comfort!
I am sending you my special pork tinga through the tubes. Enjoy!
