The Meditative PPL: Today I Took Lunch
Written by biscuit on August 28, 2008 – 5:31 pm -Today, I arrived at work ten minutes late, took a one hour lunch and left five minutes early, much to the dismay of my co-worker ( as discussed in a previous PPL).
I took such drastic action because yesterday, it was only her and I once again — and she left in the middle of complete chaos, claiming she was only running across the street to the hardware store to buy a shovel (???????), then disappeared for over an hour, leaving me to handle some fifty-sicty panicking students all by myself.
This morning when I walked in, I said to her first thing, “Today, I’m taking lunch, and I’m taking the full hour.”
She said oh, that’s great! But because I took lunch, she didn’t get to take lunch.
So maybe now she understands how I feel, given she takes lunch and a leisurely walk every day, and this is the first lunch I’ve taken in almost a month.
I also told her I planned to take an hour lunch every day from now on. I staked my claim, and I plan to stick to it. And she’s on her own. I already feel so much better.
It’s amazing what good things taking lunch does for a body.

I’m already planning my lunch tomorrow. Perhaps I’ll come home and put that nice buffalo roast in the crockpot. Maybe I’ll spend 45 minutes cutting up apples - or, if it’s cool enough, I’ll run over to the park and take a leisurely stroll.

GOOD for you, Devil Biscuit!
Today’s lack of Purple Lizard is brought to you by Charter Communications, which has been down again all day until the last 10 minutes. makes it tough to get anything done.
I figgered as much!
But it worked out - I was so excited to come home and tell you all what a total bitch I am!!! I am the evil biscuit!
Give ‘em hell! But… to paraphrase one of my guys’ favorite movies, you strike me the Diet Coke of Evil. Just one calorie.
^Å^
I am evil!!!
Taking some time for yourself is important, if nothing more than to regain some focus.
Warmest regards,
Doc.
I made soup today and plotted out what I need to do if Gustav and/or Hanna come calling next week. Gas prices already went up about a dime since yesterday and I bet they are going much higher.
Ooooh, I hope you all just get a nice rain, but nothing else.
