I’m hungry for a nice dragonfly soufflé. Anybody got a recipe for that?

I’ve got a question. A friend of mine who is unfortunately somewhat right-wing-brainwashed just told me that at the vice-presidential debate on October 2, Joe Biden will stand up, announce that he is resigning due to ill health, and hand the VP nomination to Hillary Clinton.

Have any of you heard anything about this piece of WTF???? Where in the world did this come from?

I think the rumor has been floating around for a few weeks now. The theory is that that fruitcake Palin is sooo powerful …

      :troll

… that Biden is having to resign to be replaced by Hillary.

      Pardon the gratuitous :troll btw

In any case, it’s hooey, as is 96% of the stuff bouncing around right now.

Oh, I know it’s hooey. It’s on a par with “the sun is going to shine purple today.” It was just soooooooooo stupid I couldn’t believe that even this less-than-sharp guy bought it.

In other (food) news, I cooked something new today. I had to take the spouse to a lengthy medical testing appointment first thing this morning. He had to fast, so I skipped breakfast too, and by the time I got home at 2 pm I had a raging headache and was feeling a trifle ooky in the stomach.

Opened the fridge, which is not bare but is less stocked than usual because of the impending going-out-of-town. Surveyed the comestibles. Hm. Four slices of bacon, a package of ready-to-mix cole slaw, some lemons, an onion or two. Pickles. (Scratch the pickles.)

Dice up some onion. Fry and crumble the bacon. Sauté the onion. Stir-fry the shredded cabbage in the bacon fat with the onion. Squeeze a lemon over all. Top with crumbled bacon. A little salt, a little pepper. Sublime.

Anything tastes good when sauteéd in bacon fat, I think. Even ready-to-mix cole slaw. Especially ready-to-mix cole slaw, ’cause you don’t have to shred your knuckles shredding cabbage
I thought I was going to have to work today, and so I got all my daily stuff done and ready…got clean, set out my work clothes, and yes – PUT ON MAKE-UP! Then, I thought I’d fire up the ‘puter to look at e-mail, and checked the work schedule at my company’s online website and guess what? I wasn’t scheduled to work today! It was a gift, a present, some lagniappe so I made the best of things.
        I took a nap.
A blessed, lie-down-on-the-couch-with-dogs, cover the tootsies with a throw dream-filled nap. I dreamed of red bell peppers and that the Hispanic beefcake from “CSI Miami” was madly in love with me and trying to remember my phone number.
What a lovely way to spend part of the afternoon!

          drchelo, et all,

Gosh, I had a “mental health” day also. I went to the mall!! I met some really nice people (They’re all nice here) got my hair cut, tried on some neat clothes and bought a jacket and two tops (on SALE), ate lunch at a really nice rr under the atrium, smelled some really good perfume and bought some nice lotion, walked up and down the mall for exercise, got my glasses adjusted, danced with a wee girl in a tiara. All in all, I hope all of you had a good day! I think I will sleep tonight.
Guess I need to say here, I don’t go to the mall , this was my third time in two years.

Scotia, I bought perfume today. Eclat d’Arpege.

I buy some every year. Last time was a beautiful little vial of the Perfumer’s Workshop Tea Rose.

I bought the perfume today while in my painting jammies. :P
