My sweetie and I spent our 10 day honeymoon in NM and West Texas in 2003. What a wonderful, magical time! Taos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands at sunset, Las Cruces, Roswell :-) , Tucumcari. Oh, Kate, get a picture of the beautiful neon retro sign at the Blue Swallow Motel. I have a B&W and a color pic on my wall of that sign. In Texas: MacDonald Observatory star parties and staying at the Indian Lodge (hint, hint-a really cool place to stay built by the CCC hand carved furniture and adobe walls) in the Davis Mts and watching the march of the tarantulas across the roadway and telling the Northerners..."well, they jump so don't get too close". Visiting Ft. Davis historical site and Balmorhea swimming with the fishies in a natural spring-fed pool. Seeing all the wind farms and grass fed beef with the red-tail hawks every five miles circling overhead along I-10. Good food in NM, hatch chilies were/are wonderful!!! We stayed at the neatest B&B in Taos- Dreamcatcher. Had a hot tub out back and a kiva with pinion wood on the patio. Great place to stay. Thank you, my Kate!
