      Aren’t they lovely?

If I had feet like that, I’d go hang from the ceiling just to get away from the &^%% dogs who are driving me nuts.

It snowed on us yesterday and today. We went to find another ghost town, found some more people (dressed appropriately this time) with more dogs running with ears flopping and tongues hanging out (the dogs, not the people), and took a wrong turning and started up a 4×4 road on about a 10% grade at 11,000 feet when the rain turned to snow. There were no turnaround places and no wide spots in the road. I told DH to close his eyes and did about a 5-point turnaround in the middle of the very narrow road and did NOT skate us off the side of the cliff, I’m happy to say.

Later we came back to town (Ouray) and ate corn chowder. Life was good.

While sitting here sweating and waiting for a hurricane in about 48 hours, snow sounds pretty good.

Another hurricane? There sure seem to have been a lot of them this year - or am I imagining things?

Yea, the weather before a hurricane is awful - so thick and damp. Ick!

Yep. It was down by Acapulco this morning and heading for us. Pacific hurricanes are usually not as strong as the Atlantic. I have to love the Mexicans. They always have the attitude that it will not hit them. Then they get hit and get all happy and clean up everything. They do not worry like we do. I like their attitude and am trying to adopt it in my life. It is a much easier way to live. I think I will head out for a burrito. It is Sunday after all.

I really like tree frogs. Mrs. Translator is a herpetologist, so we always had reptiles and amphibians around.

        Warmest regards,

I love tree frogs! If I were braver, I would keep pet tree frogs.

They are actually pretty easy to keep, but need live food. Flies and mosquitoes are the normal fare, and they are sort of hard to grow at home. I bet that they would eat fruit flies, and it is easy to raise them. I do even not intending to do so!

          Warmest regards,

          Doc

I have no problem raising mosquitos or flies for that matter. Send the tree frogs down.

I am so jazzed! Just served over 200 people dinner, appetizers (3), salad and salad dressing, and main course (3). Dessert was supplied by the guests. Wow! What fun cooking with 6 of your friends for 200+ is! We had a GREAT TIME!
Kate, I’m glad you are having a great time exploring NM & CO. It is so much fun to be there and ramble about.
Mango, glad things are working out and I am still working on things at my end. I’ll keep you informed.
