That is such a beautiful photo. I cannot help but think about my grandparents who came to Idaho via covered wagon. These are the sights they must have seen.

      How I know I need a vacation:

When I left this morning, I forgot to close the refrigerator door.

Fortunately, the pups view me as a crucial intermediary in their relationshop with the refrigerator, and they didn’t completely wipe me out, although the lack of refrigeration likely did.

I am excited tonight! My new chickens are laying. I got 3 little eggs tonight
I sent scotia a photo of me making an ass of myself and asked her to post it.

One of my co-workers is obsessed with her chickens. Time she should be spending doing her paperwork, she’s spending designing new coops and roosts for her hens, and figuring out which chickens get along best with which roosters.

Redneck television is what it’s known around here.

I have a very tall fence here, and she’s trying to convince me I can keep a few chickens back here, and no one would be the wiser.

I would love to have chickens, but I’m afraid that my Furry Monsters would decide that those sweet little chickens would make a tasty Sunday meal for them.
It’s against city codes to keep agricultural animals where I live, but I suppose I could call chickens my “pet birds” or something.
A neighbor down the street decided to keep chickens, but I think they forgot that roosters make noise. I know I did not turn them in…but I do know that at some point, the rooster’s lovely noise suddenly was no longer heard.
Too bad. I rather liked hearing that rooster. It reminded me of living in Mexico.
