That is beautiful scenery, Kate – how much are they asking for it? Is there easy access? Utilities? Water? Trash pickup?
I wonder who owns it to be selling it.

Easy access, yes and no — it’s adjacent to US64, which is closed due to snow at times in the winter. There are 35 acres for sale. I suspect that water is provided by the rain gods and trash pickup by the winds.

I’ll see if I can nose out a price for you.

        $15,000 an acre.

Wow. Amazingly low price – seriously. I mean, not that *I* have that kind of money, but, really, that’s not bad.

Gorgeous, too. Hopefully it will be bought by someone who will be kind to the place.

$15,000 an acre? Are you kidding me? That is outrageous for the deserts of NM and TX and OK. What will happen when T. Boone has all the water rights and sells you water on this land for $5 a gallon? I don’t think so.
That is a really beautiful place, nice vistas, but the price is out of site for what you get.

Well, in comparison to land prices in much of these parts, it’s cheap. Believe it or not, in some parts of eastern OK, $10K an acre is not unheard of. And we don’t have that kind of view! So $15K doesn’t sound like that much to me.

Besides, there are people who will happily buy it.

Some acres just east of the Cascades are going for under $5,000-much under if you can really talk them down. Some are fertile land with some water. Water is going to be the deal breaker in any transaction in the future.

Ooh! Ooh! I think I’ll buy me a hundred or so of them acres…and then I’ll build me a nice little 10,000 sq.ft. split-level cottage, complete with deck, granite countertops, air-conditioning, central heat….
(and get laughed off this site!)…

I just found for real! 20 acres for sale here for $200,000 — but thee’s mature pecan trees on the land.

If I had the money, I’d buy it just for the pecans!

But yea, drchelo – exactly – although there’s also a lot of people who’ve been buying property like that in preparation for the coming EOTWAWKI event. For real!

Mmmm…I just made myself the most deee-licious (and unexpectedly so) sandwich! I have got to go to the grocery store, but in the meantime, I scrounged around to see what was there, and I found some jack cheese, some red onion, and I had a half-loaf of sourdough bread, and so I made myself a toasted jack cheese sandwich with thinly sliced red onion, mayonnaise and just a schmear of of brown mustard – YUM!
Now I still have to go to the grocery store, but that can wait until tomorrow. For right now, my tummy is full and happy!

omg, that sounds so good. I love cheese sandwiches with red onion!

I’m having a bit of my monthly buffalo. Actually I realized a little while ago I may be becoming a buffalo afficianado. :dots:  I can now officially tell the difference in the taste of the buffalo between seasons. :dots:

My evil plan for the stew is to make Seco de carne con tamarindo. :dots:

I love the marshmallow guy! :dots:
