It got COLD today – within about 15 minutes..I guess it’s time for Wick Fowler’s Two-Alarm Chili!
I like to spice mine up differently – instead of using all the dried chili powder, I add fresh jalapeƱos, and instead of always using beef stew meat, I look around for what may be more interesting, like pork, or venison (if I can scrounge some).
It seems like there is a run on chili in Texas grocery stores when the first cold snap of the season blows in. Just like we enthusiastically (if a little irrationally) put on sweaters whenever the daytime high is expected to be below 80 degrees!
No wonder we need hot chilis to warm up our thin blood!
It’s good to see you again, Purple Lizard!

It is currently 31 degrees in Ouray with a low tonight of 5 to 15.

I may have to rethink this desire to move there.

Wednesdays are my killer day, always beginning very early, filled with crises and long meetings, never time for dinner, although i made time for a very late lunch (2 pm) and lasting til 8 pm and later.

This Wednesday has been made worse because i already *almost* did this Monday, except on Monday, instead of 12-13 hour day, it was an 11 hour day that was hit the ground running from Moment One.

I shouldn’t complain. I have benefits and make enough money to pay my bills and still save a bit and have some fun. I have a roof and can afford to buy great, healthy food.

But I still like to complain. :troll

Along with language, isn’t complaining one of the things that sets humans apart from animals? It gives us common ground, a basis for communication, and a good way to vent unpleasant emotions – I think.
As soon as we covered our australopithecine naked bodies with animal skins, someone was bound to complain that they itched!

You have not met my dog, Cora. If she has to wait too long in the grocery store she starts crying. When she wants her blanket over her in 100 degree weather, she cries. If we go to the beach bar to visit her grand parents, and I cannot find them she cries. Yesterday when Jean came by to pick me up to go somewhere, I picked Cora up to bring into the house and she reached her front legs out to Jean as though she was pleading with her tia to take her along. This is not the first time this has happened so we think she is pleading for Jean to rescue her.
