Nothing much to report from today. I’m making potato soup for dinner because it has suddenly turned soup weather. Last night we had both dogs on the bed and were very glad of it.
It was a three-dog morning this morning, indeed…but that warmth and comfort gets a rude awakening when all three of the bed-dogs decide it’s time for breakfast, which means Open Season on mama! They are a little more subtle than pouncing on me like cats are wont to do, but one of them will start scratching (that sort of shakes the bed, especially when it is the 80-pounder doing it) and escalates into the Full Wet-Willie treatment if I don’t show sufficient signs of life!
I don’t know if is the lingering effect of chemo or the loss of body insulation, but I seem to be feeling the cold more. I had to wear three layers of clothes today, even when I got outside in the sunshine with temperatures up into the upper 60′s. And it’s not even full Michelin-Woman season yet!
“Michelin-Woman” is what I feel like when I’m wearing panty hose, long underwear, a T-shirt, a sweat shirt, sweat pants, a sweater AND a hoodie – indoors. Don’t ask what I wear to go outside.

Same here. Freezing all night, and I found myself feeling a slight bit of amazement at Kate’s admission she never turns the heat on. Well, I do … although I am seeking more energy efficient ways to ensure the chillies are chased away.
As for me, I discovered the source of the nasty “anonymous” postcard send to me which attempted to slander Jim Roth.

I am now traveling from Oklahoma forum to Oklahoma forum posting my amazement that a certain conservative political candidate who’s already been busted for illegal and unethical behaviors now finds it necessary to go after a totally rocking Corporate Commissioner, and all through a fictitious organization which, my oh my, shares the same address as ::drum roll:: Oklahoma Conservative PAC.

Then I bust them to the proper authorities. Well, if I can. Not entirely certain yet it’s illegal. But I’m trying!!!
It is not cold here, but it never is. Otherwise we would have furnaces. On Saturday afternoon while at the ranch, I felt something bite me. I have no idea what the creature was but in the morning I was swollen from my knee to my groin. Huge swelling. I felt a little nauseous on Sunday and my leg kept getting bigger.Today, the swelling has gone down a bit but I am sick, sick, sick! I have the pukeys and a terrible headache. I slept most of the day and my leg hurts when I walk. A taxi driver friend said that it is a tiny mosquito that bit me. He said there was nothing to be concerned about. That was Sunday and today is Tuesday! Maybe I should check with the doc instead of the cute taxi driver. What do you all think?
Hi there. I went to bed early and slept well, and when I awoke the swelling is down and I feel fine. Sometimes or most times it does not do any good to see the doc unless you know what is wrong. The docs here never touch you. It is very strange. I guess Tito, the taxi driver was right. No problemo.
If you are feeling sick, I’d certainly go see the doctor. If nothing else, the bit itself could have gotten infected, and antibiotics might be indicated. The pukes and the headache are symptoms of a systemic reaction, like an infection.
In the meantime, stay in bed with your leg elevated. If you walk around on it, it will make the swelling worse.
Please check in tomorrow, to let us know how you are. I can’t make rounds on you from here, you know…and I worry.
