I don’t remember the name of this, but I do know it’s *very* tasty – although I’ve been warned against eating too much of it because it contains oxa—, the substance that blocks something. I snack on it anyway. A good weed, and hearty too.

As for me, I’m reading nothing today. I’m off to the bank again to clear up to mess, then I begin painting The Inner Chamber of the hallway because I finished painting The Outer Alcove last night. I haven’t done the finish work, no. But the finish work is one of the things that’s taking so much time. So It’s going to have to wait ’til I get a little further on.

    Oxalic acid. This looks like wood sorrel, and you are right, it is very, very tasty.

      Yes, that’s it on all counts!

      I received stern warnings once against eating it, but it’s so wonderfully tasty that I ignored that.

      Good morning, biscuit and Kate! I loves me wood sorrel – it is sold as an ornamental here, but it is so hardy in North Texas that I see little wood sorrel grandbabies and great-grandbabies growing in the alleys like weeds.
      When it is really hot and dry in the summers, the offspring of ornamental portulacas will take over from all other weeds in the alleys. The descendants don’t have the pretty flowers, and the leaves are smaller with thicker skins, but they are still portulacas!
      Interesting how ornamentals can go wild.

        It’s hard to believe it’s actually sold. It grows everywhere here, just like a – erm – weed. :lol:

        While out taking further care of the Great iTunes Hacking, I went to WalMart.

        Yes, I know. But I needed to get some of that liquid hemming stuff, and I just couldn’t bring myself to drive a few more miles to the fabric store.

        In any case, it was empty! Interesting … So what would once have been a one hour trip just to get some stupid liquid hemming stuff was a 10-15 minute trip, with the majority of that time spent in Sewing Notions trying to locate exactly what I needed.

          Okay, this sounds beyond disgusting to me, but if you like peanut butter (or things made with it, like Thai peanut sauce) it might be a good addition to your Zombie Pantry. I assume it’s shelf-stable for some time.

          Powdered Peanut Butter

          They’re also working on some gluten-free peanut cookies and such, too.

            Yoikes!

            Better to buy lots of peanuts in the shell (which you can get by the truckload here and, I’m certain, in your neck of the woods, as well) and dedicate a coffee grinder to making your own peanut butter.

            ::gag::

              I’m the only person I ever met who hates peanut butter! So I doubt I will be buying any either.
