    Simul-post!

I am now officially ON VACATION, after a very intense 3-4 hour meeting which was extremely productive, but aroused all kinds of emotions.

Working with at-risk students is very intense. I could have used the entire vacation away from it to kind of recover my own center again, but alas – I had to come in to the meeting, and I’m glad I did, but it also made me realize how very intense this work is.

I’m devoting the next couple of weeks of to painting and planning the gardens!

And I am devoting the next few days to surviving. We’ve had 8″ of snow already this week and expect another 4″ overnight! Just got back from the Dr.’s across town. Capitol Lake is freezing around the edges and the overflow lake is almost all frozen (it’s only 1-1 1/2′ deep. Freezing fog anyone?

Arrrgh! I’ll be back in that boat in a day or so. For the next few days, we’re 50s, very foggy, but not freezing to death. Then, come Sunday: 10 degrees. ::whimper::

By the way, i stuffed the turkey with tangerines and oranges. It’s delish!

Yummy! DId you use some corn-bready stuff, too? Raisins? Veggies? Do tell!

Just tangerines and a couple of oranges. I did it really early this morning, and I had to think quick because – well, i knew I had to go to this meeting at 10, and i wanted the turkey fully cooked before I left, and I had just enough time to do it *if* all I did was start cutting tangerines (and oranges) in half and stuffing them in here.

The house smelled like an expensive Chinese restaurant when I got home, and the dark meat is fabulous!

Oh my, I’ll have to try that with the turkey thigh in the fridge. Sounds heavenly. May have to add some onion and garlic though. No doggies!

Pull the skin up and slip it under there – that’s the one thing I’d do different. I’d also baste the turkey with some tangerine or orange, too.

With onion and maybe something suasage-y, it would be full-on heaven!

Good news! About a half hour ago Cora came out from her serape and we shared a bit of brie on rye. Then she had some water, and ate from her own dish. What a day! She just shivered and looked so forlorn all day. She seems to be feeling normal again. Thanks for all your support.
By the way, her favorite kitty, Uno snuggled up with her and gave her a kitty bath. I guess that was his way to pay her back after she saved his life when the snake bit him last March.

        Yay, Cora! I’m so glad!

Give Cora recovery schmoozies from my crew.

Oh, how sweet. I am so glad Cora is back to her old self. You know, “they say” that a kitty bath is a purrrrrfect cure! :purple:

I guess Uno must have heard that.
I am sorry it is so cold there. I would probably die. Thin blood you know. Spring is just around the corner so enjoy the snow and stay warm.

Thanks, Mango, my friend! And Cora and Uno, too!
I look forward to a dinner at a friend’s house in January….they have an observatory in their backyard! Yea! One month at a time. January-dinner with friends & observatory, February-Austin and my daughter’s wedding, March-birthday & St Patrick’s Day party, April-Farmer’s Market comes again!

Arriba Corazon! I’m so glad she’s feeling better, mango! Whether it was the shot or tincture of time, the fact that she’s eating food is a very, very good sign.
What a relief – I hate it when my babies are not feeling well..
