Dinner tonight: in addition to a little kibble, the pups ate a sumptious mixture of pumpkin, buffalo broth, sardines, nutritional yeast and oatmeal. Their snack for the day was yogurt.

Now. If I just didn’t have to work, maybe I could keep you all updated a little better on the state of their vittles.

I am just sad tonight. I guess I must look for a new place to live. The folks that I rent from raised my rent about fifty dollars which is ok, but also said that I am responsible for maintaining the property. I have been maintaining the property since the flood last year. I have paid to fix the house since the flood and that was not considered. It is hard to find a permanent home here as most of the rentals are apartments for the snowbirds. I cannot live in an apartment. I want to live where I can have my chickens and I want to live in this town. There are places in the next town over but I am involved in this community and want to stay here. I am so tired of the crap and I guess I have to buck up and do what is necessary. It sucks! I love my house but I will not pay out more money for repairs.

      Mango,

Is there any way for you to buy a place? That would be the best. Is there any kind of renters rights there? If you put money into a place you should get it back out.

Oh, mango, I am so sorry!

I think Scotia is right, though. Is there any way possible you can buy your own place?

No and no. Cash to buy a place here and I would never have a title because it is not legal for us to buy unless we are sixty miles inland. I would have to put the house in a Mexicans name.
There are renters rights but money talks here and the owners are prominent people who would just cause me much pain. I tried to get a 400.00 deposit returned from previous owners and they tried to get me deported. I won the case but it cost me a lot of money. The gringos really have no rights here. We joke about traffic accidents. The gringo is always at fault. I have a friend who was hit by a Mexican and she came within a 170.00 bribe from going to jail. That is one reason I sold my car.

          That totally sucks. :(

I’m so sorry. I may hate paying a mortgage every month, but at least my home is my own and I don’t have to put up with idiot landlords.

Tourists who visit have no idea how hard it is for us to live here full time.

You know what? I have not seen the dog that I wanted to rescue for two days. They poison the street dogs here. I hope that I was not a day late for him.

                |I am ok. I will be 68 in a couple of months and would just like to know what is coming up in my life. Maybe that is too much for me to ask for.

My first month of Spanish class just ended. I am so impressed with what I have learned. I have a great teacher and we learn so much from him. I am having conversations that I can actually understand now. I was having conversations and would listen for a keyword so I knew what we were talking about. Now I can understand if they do not talk too fast. I am elated. Two months to go and I will be fleunt! HA!
