A nice gentleman came yesterday and picked up the old computer gear. The map, book, and records ladies did not, but all say they are coming to pick up today. We’ll see. I pulled a muscle in my back moving furniture and decided that Monday I am calling Hannah Home to pick up the tv and whatever doesn’t get collected today.

Next: move the kitchen equipment to the zombie pantry downstairs and fuss at the Spouse to decide whether he wants to fix that broken recliner in there or let Hannah Home have it.

I have made progress this week! Now for another handful of Advil and the Saturday errands. Maybe by now the farmer’s market is getting something green and local; I’m really craving something fresh.

Kate, you have certainly taken on a big project. Good luck and getting a charity or company to haul away stuff is great. I gave a retro/vintage store alot of 50-70 glass/patterns/fabric/stuff. The young woman who is half owner knows my daughter and they trade some stuff all the time. My daughter is manager of the oldest and largest vintage clothing/costume/costume accessory store in Austin. I felt good and she felt good.
I am trying to convince my sweetie to get rid of the recliners (yes, one is broken) and get a loveseat for TV viewing. I keep telling him, “But Sweetie, we can snuggle!”

      :D Snuggles are good!

The book lady finally showed up and claimed her three boxes. I put them out on the porch when we left this morning. I think she was miffed, but I’m not delivering, sorry.

Didn’t make it to the farmer’s market, but I just made contact with a guy who has fresh, free range duck eggs. Wow! Going to get a couple dozen of those tomorrow.

Little Dolly and the Demon dog have figured out a way to wedge me in between them on the sofa so that even if I wanted to get out of the enforced snuggle, I’m trapped! This is particularly effective if there is a thunderstorm going on and the Demon somehow manages to gain about two tons of mass and there is no way that I can escape; therefore I must stay on the sofa and protect him as long as the thunder and lightning are going on!
I talked to my sister in Houston this afternoon – where we had thunderstorms and some rain, she has had two days of solid rain, so much that the water almost got to her front door! Her cats are more scared of water than they are of thunder.
Kate, I’m pleased to hear that you are gradually de-stuffing and the Freecyclers are actually picking up the stuff. What is “Hannah Home”?

Hannah Home is the local shelter for abused women and children. They have several thrift stores in the area, and I would rather support them than the local branch of Goodwill. Also, they have a truck! And strong guys who will come and pick up that tv that I simply cannot handle by myself.

The map lady did not come or respond, but I have a home for those if she flakes out. A friend of mine in New Mexico offered to pay shipping if I would send them to her.

The lady who wanted the 45s is coming tomorrow. So yay! The room is almost empty enough to ask the carpet guy to come and measure. Which has been the whole point of this particular exercise.

Good luck on the duck eggs! Those sound really great.
I am prepping a Texican-Mexican dinner for tomorrow night. It is Fiesta, you know. Sort of King Ranch Chicken, organic Mexican Rice, Tomatillo Salsa, Guacamole heaven, and a vanilla-coconut-lime flan. Oh, a Lime-Cucumber Agua Fresca, sangria and Mexican coffee, Am I a good host or what? Others are bringing appetizers, another veggie and salad. I hope they shower us with wine and beer! ;-)
          Talk with you all Monday.
