Welcome to PolitiCook. This site was started by biscuit and Kate and is now home to a small online community of people who love good food, conversation, and laughter. We’re slightly silly at times, but we are serious about frugality, sustainability, gardening, preserving, and learning to live in the scary times ahead of us.
Biscuit is the moderately manic home renovation expert, educator, and former professional cook with a penchant for powerful spices. She lives with two dogs, a pair of birds, innumerable tree frogs, and the occasional goat.
Kate is an artist, photographer, writer, fairly decent amateur cook, and the Great and Powerful Oz who pulls the levers that make this place work. She shares her house in central Alabama with spouse, #1 Son, two very large dogs who think they are still lap puppies, and far too many computers.
