Every registered user of this site — yes, this means you! and you!! — can write a diary and it’s automatically front-paged. No permission needed, no moderation required to make that happen.

We do ask that you keep your diaries more or less on topic for this site: food, wine/spirits/beer, politics, gardening, alternative energy, farming, the environment. That’s a pretty wide-open field right there. We also ask that all content be original. If you do post the words of other people, please blockquote and link.

Similarly, every registered user can comment. We don’t moderate and we don’t want to moderate. We have lives, other things to do, and we expect anyone interested in this blog understands the requirements for unmoderated posting.

We’re not terribly restrictive; we only ask that you not engage in drama queening or Blogging While Drunk. If you’re angry with one of us, or hate us for whatever reason, that’s your right. We probably already know. We may even hate you, too – but we have other things to worry about. And, if you’re drunk, we’re happy for you. Have a great time! Just don’t make it our problem.

Please have at it! We need and want your voices on PolitiCook. This is your place as much as ours. Let’s make it great.

    The Event of the Season!
Cora had her third birthday party yesterday, and I have sent Kate a pile of photos. She will make the selections.
It was a sunny day at the beach and more than fifty people showed up! Everyone had a great time and filled their tummies with food and drink.
We served pastil de carne, a meat cake, potato salad, appetizers and lots of beer. I am the one with the funny face holding Cora. I do not know what happens when there is a camera around, but I always manage to look like an idiot!
Cora received lots of nice gifts including a flannel blanket with her name on it from her tia Jean. The vet gave her a collar and a new ID tag. She received a seashell collar and lots of treats. She really got into the party and everyone laughed at her. She seemed to know it was all about her.
I hope that you enjoy the photos because they tell the whole story.
    Thanks Kate.
